Karen Thomas' near death experience occurred July 7, 1982 in Anchorage, Alaska where she had been working as a physical therapist. She was injured and had to have her second back surgery. Concerned that she may need a spinal fusion which would mean the loss of her physical therapy career, Karen asked friends and family to pray for her on the day of her surgery. During surgery, Karen’s left common iliac artery was cut and she bled out on the operating room table. She found herself looking down on her body and watching the commotion as the staff struggled to keep her alive. After leaving her body, she travelled through space and time, met with a guide, visited deceased relatives, had a life review, saw the energy that was created from family and friends praying for her, and learned what her life would be like if she returned to her body. Her story is truly incredible and life changing. Today, Karen is dedicated to telling her story of what took place during her near death experience and sharing how she has brought that amazing love and light of God’s presence from her NDE into her life today. She has seen its healing power in herself and in those around her that she has shared her story with. Karen has spoken for the IANDS Durham group and has also submitted her written story to IANDS.org where it can be viewed online under the title Prayers Like Musical notes. She has also been featured in the documentary, Back From the Light co-produced by Yvonne Sneeden and Robert Neal Marshall. IANDS January 2017 newsletter featured her story and on February 27, 2017, NDE Radio interviewed her. The radio interview is available at NDEAccounts.com under A Unique Christian Account - FreeWill. Both the radio interview and written account can be viewed online at NDERF as number 4317 Karen T and it is under both their current and in their Exceptional Archives areas. She can’t wait to share her beautiful message with all those attending NDEOneDay events in the future.
